When 12-year-old Teddy makes a plan to sneak away from the Remembrance Day ceremony, little does he know where his scheme will take him! Teddy really doesn’t want to go to the boring ceremony, especially when the comics store is hosting the biggest War Games competition that has ever come to town. But the day before the competition an old veteran gives him a “special” poppy that transports him to the mud-filled trenches of World War I. After a narrow escape he finds himself on a reeling World War II naval vessel and then joining the crew of an air force bomber. Will Teddy ever get home?

Ed Butts loved history and adventure stories as a kid, and started writing short stories, articles, and poetry in his teens. On the rare occasions when a magazine published his work, he was overjoyed, especially when they sent him a cheque for ten dollars. Since then Ed has written books about explorers, adventurers, criminals, hidden treasure, disasters, mysteries, and daring women. He has also worked at many other jobs, including teaching at a school in the Dominican Republic for eight years. Ed lives in Guelph, Ontario, with his daughter and six-year-old grandson.
