About the authors

Marion Mutala has a master's degree in education administration and taught for 30 years. With a mad passion for the arts she loves to write, sing, folkdance, play guitar, garden, travel, and read. She is the author of the bestselling and award-winning children's book trilogy, Baba's Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian Christmas, Baba's Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian Easter, and Baba's Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian Wedding. Her fourth book, Grateful was published in 2014 and another children's book, Kohkom's Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian/Aboriginal Legend, is forthcoming in 2016. Ukrainian Daughter's Dance is her debut poetry collection.

Amber Rees has worked in film as a classical and stop-motion animator, sculptor, and puppet fabricator. A versatile artist, Amber enjoys working with sculpture, watercolour, and mixed media. randomartbyamberrees.blogspot.ca. Wendy Siemens is a professional artist and art instructor who has illustrated a number of picture books. Painting and drawing are her specialties, but she also works in photography, printmaking, and clay sculpture. wendysiemens.caOlha Tkachenko was born in Ukraine, a country of rich art traditions. She received formal education at a fine arts school and has worked in the visual arts all her life. In 2014, Olha moved with her family to Canada, where the Ukrainian-Canadian community and its focus on national heritage, inspired new art projects.
