Description

Three generations of Canadians have shouted, chanted and whispered the irresistible lines of Dennis Lee. Boisterously originaland true to the spirit of childhoodLee returns in Bubblegum Delicious to the joyous roots of his classic childrens poetry.Using the rhythm of bouncing balls and schoolyard songs, Lee has created a collection with all the wonder and wistfulness of early yearsfrom sublime goofiness to winsome poignancy.Illustrator David McPhail has created a complementary world, peopled with a young boy, his beloved dog, and a wacky collection of psychedelic bugs. In turn, these bugs deliver their own brand of versea parade of bratty, hilarious quatrains that act as a delightful counterpoint to the whimsy and gentleness of the main poems.Bubblegum Delicious is destined to become a classic of Canadian childrens literature.
